Since its creation in 2015, Project Eden has had many things happen on the server. The server started out being called Bear Nation, but in mid 2021 the name was changed to better suit the vision the developers had.

First 2 Years Walkthrough

If you go to /warp 2y, it will bring you to a walkthrough of the events of the first two years of the server. This walkthrough starts you at the first spawn created by Morphie. At the start you can see an old version of Animal Teleport Pens and the original market, which allowed players to purchase items such as glass, ores, mob heads, and more from the server.

Next the walkthrough brings you to the Member Spawn, which was an alternate spawn for players who had achieved Member rank. The goal was to reduce grief, but it was just confusing. This spawn had an additional benefit of allowing players to teleport to 9 different biomes.

Next we see the honey pots. These were a statue of both owners Griffin and Jenny, and a 'modern' style house. These were nearby each spawn, luring griefers into the automatic grief trap. If someone broke more than 10 blocks on these structures, they were automatically temporarily banned. After that the walkthrough showcases the two most popular towns, Nikopolis, which was created by _leroy, Pandatai and Nildrak, and Mizutorimura, which was created by DivineKing.

After this there are signs explaining Firefly. Firefly was a server that was about to shutdown on September 15th of 2015, and a member Celtic_Myth brought the whole community over to our server. The "Firefly takeover" as it was later called also brought us Minigames, mcMMO, and years of experience. Some of our most popular minigame maps are from this time. The popular minigame map KodaCoves original state is shown next.

Next you see the original Minigame Lobby. For the last minigame night held on Firefly, there was a larger podium selection. Many of the people seen on this podium went on to become staff, as well as other former Firefly members not mentioned here. In this original Minigame Lobby there were signs for each arena, unlike the system we currently have.

As the server grew, so did our spawns and towns. The walkthrough next shows an updated Member Spawn, built by Morphie, as well as an updated Guest Spawn, which was gifted by a new player that had downloaded it off a website and claimed it as their own. We did not learn about this until after, but it is a nice spawn. After this there are two newer player towns. There is a flying city called Duskrift that was built by hand by Linkinhood, and a Christmas Village that was built by Zizitt, with an accompanying plugin made by FrozenDroid.

Next we see Skull Mountain, a build for the Pirate Build Contest that was built by Blast. The Pirate Build Contest had ended in early April of 2016, but on the morning of April 15th everything changed. Someone had made a typo in a command, resulting in some of our worlds being permanently deleted. It took about a week to have everything working again, and it sucked to have lost so much, but at the same time it was nice to have a fresh start like this. This was intended to be the only reset the server experienced, but there came some later complications.

The walkthrough ends with the original Walls of Grace. Here you can see many kind and thought out messages from long time server members. This description of this walkthrough does not do the information or builds any justice, so it is recommended to check it out for yourself.

First 2 Years Part 2

The walkthrough of the first two years does not include information on everything that happened. On January 5th of 2016 the Discord server was created, and so there is a much clearer record in the announcements channel.

When the server was unintentionally wiped the developers of the server took the opportunity to change a few things. The server was switched to a system called BungeeCord that allowed having multiple worlds much more easily. With this change, a few new worlds were introduced. Previously there was two different Survival worlds, one for Guests and one for Members, but with the server having been wiped they introduced a Survival world for both groups. This new Survival world had a Spawn built by Steve and Linkinhood. They also introduced the Creative world as well as Minigames. Very shortly after the disk space on the server ran out, causing everything to be corrupted again. The Admins decided to reset the server again, causing mcMMO levels, Economy, and builds to be wiped. The new world was generated on the same seed however. The market was brought back on May 9th, being the last thing from this wipe that was broken.

In late May of 2016, after a large number of staff had stepped down from their roles, the Veteran rank was introduced. This rank was created to show appreciation for the contributions all our previous staff members made. There was a Scavenger Hunt event held in June of 2016, with numerous prizes rewarded for players who found all 30 statues. After a long amount of time and many extra hints, the Polar Bear Pet was rewarded to Steve on July 5th. In August the Walls of Grace were introduced, with players with Trusted rank or above being able to place 2 signs and say what they love about the server.

On November 20th of 2016, in the middle of the Space themed Build Contest, the Wither arena was introduced. This version was very different to how it is now, requiring a $50,000 entrance fee. Shortly after the Hall of History was introduced. You can view every former and current staff member by going to /hallofhistory or /hoh. For Christmas that year there was a small scavenger hunt village with 12 presents. This is the same village shown in the 2 Year Walkthrough.

In early 2017 the Supporter Badge and Discord role were introduced as an additional way to show our appreciation for those who donate to the server. On the 26th of February, 2017, there was a major change made to player shops. They still were on trade signs, but there were two central locations made, a Mall and a Plaza. This is also when shop history was introduced, as well as shop descriptions. At the start of April there was an April Fools joke, where the server was made into a factions server for a day.

In May the first iteration of Daily Rewards were introduced. The rewards would get more special as you got a higher streak, with the max reward being on day 30. Later on in May the first Ore Hunt took place. This event would happen a few more times over the years, and stay relatively the same. This was an event that took place in a different world, and you had to earn the most points you could in 2 hours. On the 20th of June the Skyblock gamemode was released. There were "Challenges" you could do to earn rewards to help your island progress.

To finish off the first two years of the server, the Owner made an announcement that explained Firefly and told everyone about the 2 Year Walkthrough.

Major Changes

The server has gone through a ton of change since the first two years, and this is where the most important changes will be mentioned.

April of 2017 held the first Easter event, where there were 53 eggs scattered across the Survival Warps. In 2019 this was updated to be 25 bunny heads across all public areas of the server.

To celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the server, there was a new event introduced, Bear Fair! Bear Fair was a week long event with a ton of minigames and included the first iteration of what eventually became Event Tokens, originally called Bear Fair Coins. There were many different ways to earn this currency, including building and doing artwork related to the server.

Later that same year, the first Halloween event titled "Missing at the Mansion" took place. This was a small adventure map but in later years the Halloween event would be much more.

At the end of 2018 the first Pugmas event as we know it took place. There were 25 presents hidden around a Christmas themed map that would unlock one per day. There were a few other activities included, such as parkour, hot air balloons, and helping a Penguin family find their lost baby.

For Australia day 2020, there was a special event held on the server called Summer Down Under. This was an event including some small minigames, and was also done to raise awareness about the awful bushfires taking place at that time. Later that year in March, there would be an event for Holi, that included some quests and new games.

In May of 2020 the trust commands were introduced. These have only changed once since, to add decorations as an option. Shortly after this the first Pride event took place, which included some of the builds from the Asset Build Competition that took place a small time prior.

In March of 2021 the Wither fight was updated to have 4 different difficulty options, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Corrupted. The new difficulties came with different chances for being rewarded the Nether Star or Wither Crate Keys. These changes came with a new arena as well. At the same time the replacement for Skyblock, known as Oneblock, was introduced. Shortly after these changes the current iteration of player shops were introduced.

In April of 2021 the Noble role was announced. This was a role above Elite provided to members who went above and beyond and were involved in server development. The purpose of the role was to allow the players to provide input on server projects without the additional stress of being a Moderator or Builder. This role has since been changed to the Community Council role, which has the same purpose but is Discord only.

Some time after this, there was a decision made to regulate Enderman farms. The public farms were considered much too over-powered, especially if new players could immediately use them.

In early 2022 the Hub world was introduced. This is where new players will spawn, with the option to teleport to any of our 4 main gamemodes right in front of them. Behind the Hub spawn there are also podiums, showing the top 3 players in a variety of categories. Along with the release of this, the server started requiring the resource pack Saturn to be installed to join.

Not long after this, the decision was made to make a new world for 1.19, since world generation was to be changed drastically. The old worlds were kept around as legacy warps. Leading up to the reset, the player Knack decided to get a full Netherite Beacon, and many players contributed to this goal. The update was completed on June 22nd of 2022, with many features being temporarily disabled for balancing in this new world. Soon after the new Survival Spawn, Avontyre, was introduced, with many of its custom features such as Mob Nets coming shortly after. As the last change in a long line up, there was a new Minigame Lobby introduced at the start of 2023.

The most recent major updates were the return of the Mystery Crate, which rewards Tool Skins and Profile Textures, later receiving an update with the release of Armor Skins and StatTrack. You can learn more about Crates and the items in them here

Minor Changes

There are many minor changes that most people would not think twice about, but are still interesting to note.

In September of 2017 the feature that allows players to sit on stairs and slabs was introduced. Shortly after the /mutemenu was added, which allows numerous chat messages and noises to be muted. At the end of this month the rewards from Daily Rewards were doubled, so now there was 60 days of rewards.

In October of the same year, mcMMO reset was introduced. This would allow you to reset skills from 100 to 0 and get a cool new item. You can read more about this on the main page: McMMO. Not long after this the Homes Menu received a rework. It was changed to what you can see right now ingame.

On the 3rd of February, 2018, there were a large number of changes made. First, the Vote Point Store received a small balancing update. There was also another player shop hub introduced, with optional billboards you could purchase to advertise your store. There was another Statue Hunt event announced. Next they announced the Leroy Signal, which would later become the Store Perk Rainbow Beacon. There was also a new Minigame announced, being Connect4. Finally, there was a contest announced to suggest custom join/quit messages for a new Store Perk.

Shortly after this Invite Rewards were introduced. This is an incentive to invite your friends to join the server, and it rewards you 15 Vote Points per invite. You can read more about this |here. In June of 2018 the most recent version of [Animal Teleportation Pens] was introduced, that allowed you to teleport your pets between spawn and all cardinal Survival Warps.

In June of 2019 the rank system was reworked to be very similar to where it is now. There were still some changes made later on, including in October of 2020 when the colors were changed to what they are now.

In May of 2020 the Daily Reward system was updated to the way it currently is, with 100 days of rewards and 3 rewards to choose from each day. The rewards have been periodically updated since then, but the system has stayed the same. Shortly after the first batch of /customrecipes were added.

Early in 2021 Weekly Wakka was first introduced. He moves locations every Sunday and rewards you with a key for the Weekly Wakka Crate when you find him. Shortly after Backpacks were introduced, as well as optional PVP in the Survival world. Not long after this the Minigame Collectibles were introduced.

In early 2025, Vote Parties were introduced. These are an alternative to monthly vote rewards, which were not being reached for a long time. Shortly after this many minigames, being Checkers, Block Party, and Dropper were introduced, as well as Pixel Painters recieving a new lobby.

There are many different topics discussed in this page, and if you're curious about any there is likely a page on this wiki for them. If there is not, please feel free to make a suggestion asking for it in the Discord.
