Discord
Discord is a text and voice chat program, similar to Skype. It is the central hub of Bear Nation. A large portion of our members and all of our staff are pretty active on Discord. We like to use discord to stay connected, as a community, even when we are not on Minecraft. Additionally, constant updates and announcements are made on Discord by staff members. This is the best place to stay up-to-date with the server's changes and events.
Please note that voice chat is not required! No one will ever force you into a voice chat, and even then you can mute yourself if you are not comfortable talking. We would never want to force you out of your comfort zone!
Here is the invite link to our discord server.
Discord history and information
Discord is a relatively new program, started in May 2015 by Hammer & Chisel. Their homepage describes the program as an All-in-one voice and text chat for gamers that's free, secure, and works on both your desktop and phone. Stop paying for TeamSpeak servers and hassling with Skype. Simplify your life.
In it's short lifetime, Discord has grown exponentially to reach 45 million users in just 2 years, handling 16 petabytes of voice chat and 6 billion chat messages per month.
Discord is completely free to use on both desktop and mobile, has a crisp modern layout, and does not use a lot of resources.
How to get Discord
You can either use the web client or download the desktop applications.
